Maison Mabileau
When Château Vieux Lavergne was acquired, it stood out for its terroir composed of silts and sands. This soil type is unusual, with the silty particles providing a major source of nutrients for the renewal of soil fertility. As for the sand, it has low water retention capacity, warms up quickly in spring, and thus, the vine starts and finishes its cycle earlier than others. These old vines, early in the ripening of their grapes, give the wine density, with a velvety mid-palate and a long finish. The wine has an atypical style with exuberant notes of red fruits, blackcurrant, and plum. The aging process adds a subtle spicy touch.
