In 1985, in the heart of the Loire Valley at Saint Nicolas de Bourgueil, Laurent MABILEAU took over the family property that had for several generations produced wine from the Cabernet Franc grape variety known under the name of « Breton ».
His work, his devotion, his commitment, his enthusiasm, reflected a big turning point in the history of the Maison MABILEAU.
It was in this context in 1996 that innovative yet traditional installations were introduced to the winery and more recently, in 2016, the acquisition of Château le Moulin Neuf, the only wine château in the « Saint Nicolas de Bourgueil » appellation area.
In 2012, his son Antoine joined the Maison MABILEAU. He brought his innovative ideas, a breath of youth and dynamism. An open spirit and just as passionate by the world of wine, he is constantly in search of excellence, endowed with a strong conviction, he spread his Loire culture in Bordeaux and took over the management of Château Moulin Bellegrave in Saint Emilion.
This new property of 18 hectares allowed the production of a "Saint-Emilion Grand Cru" in the UNESCO world heritage region.
A family spirit reins in the management of these two properties. Laurent and Antoine complement each other in their work, their experience, but also by the diversity of their production.
Their actions are respectful to the natural balance, with a strong involvement in the preservation of the richness of the soils, but also in the care given, by hand as often as is possible, to the vines and earth that they cultivate.
Strength from the past, yet resolutely turned towards the future Laurent et Antoine market their wines through the MAISON MABILEAU shining today with a team on hand to respond with excellence to the requirements of its customers.
